Week #1: Why I chose this template

First off, this blog is a prototype for an actual club / class that I am planning to start with my martial arts teacher (Si-Fu) and uncle. The blog will mainly serve as a place where future and past members can keep in contact with each other and also as a means of advertisement to any future members. Most of the club is still in the planning stages, but if anyone is interested in joining, let me know!

Why did I choose this template? I wanted something that was not flashy, and was subdued so as not to detract too much from the content and logo. The overall bluish-green coloration of the blog (at least according to some of my previous classes) instills a sense of trust and goodwill towards anyone reading the blog, hopefully making it more likely for any future readers to become potential members, and making it an overall more comfortable reading environment for current members.

Aspects of design are still WIP.

    I like it! I think you definitely achieved your goals. The logo really stands out a lot and the rest is more subdued. This seems like a topic where you could have a lot of great photos of real classes and stuff and the images can really draw people into your company. I'm looking forward to seeing more!

    I thought the martial arts blog looked pretty interesting but I can see why it might get complicated or confusing.
    I'm sure this class will help with getting that blog going. I am interested in seeing how your martial arts blog develops too.
