What could be improved?
· 1) The logo / header seems underwhelming; it should
be a more prominent feature in order to draw in visitors.
·
2) Too much text. The information on each page
should either be put onto separate pages, or at the least have links that go to
each section to make it easier for the reader.
·
3) The email list / social media links should be
placed in easier to see locations.
·
4) The video, though a good idea, was placed in an
odd location; would have been better lower on the page with the text.
·
5) Perhaps I wasn’t looking hard enough, but there
was no “contact us” page where I could easily reach the author(s).
What was done right?
·
1) The logo, though not prominent enough, is in the
right location.
·
2) Though simplistic, the contrasting colors and
simple shapes are easy on the eyes and do not overwhelm the content.
·
3) Having social media links and a link to a forum (which
was prominently placed) were very good ideas.
Review #2
What could be improved?
· 1) All of the text and information on the page seemed
overwhelming; it should be put onto other pages.
·
2) The logo is a bit basic and could use some “pizazz”
or something to bring it out more.
·
3) Placing so many products on the home page felt a
little overwhelming.
·
4) Placing the contact information onto its own
page would make it easier for find for the viewer.
What was done right?
· 1) Putting testimonials on the front page seemed
like a good idea.
·
2) Links on the left side was a nice a touch and
makes the page feel more organized.
·
3) Though too many were placed on the front page,
placing them there was not a horrible idea, as it creates a nice centerpiece for the page.

A company or organization’s website should have clear
branding that reflects who it belongs to. The design should be well done and
easy on the eyes, yet on the same token it should also try to be attractive.
Most importantly, the content on the site should be well organized and easy to
read/find.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteThese are both pretty confusing websites. I also thought that on the richsoil website, they didn't really introduce the product or company. They just launched into a testimonial and it really wasn't clear what the website was about without rading further.
On the tectorch website, I thought that the image of the building was very lackluster. I would've put a large , dramatic photo of someone welding with one of the torches.
